Oregon has a good base in making wine, recognized by most of the country for its top quality wines, comparable to the quality of most French wines. Oregon has different regions divided and separated by soil quality, amount of sunlight received and the climate of the region. Additional areas cling at the borders of Oregon and Washington/Idaho. Wine making has been a very important part of the pioneer life, as it is the only source of alcohol and inebriation during those lonely times.

Pinot gris is the white variety of the Pinot species, with scientific name vitis vinifera. Pinot gris means ‘pine’ and ‘grey’ in French, attributed to its grayish blue hue found in the fruit. Wines produced by this grape variety, are, however, depending its tone and color from yellow to copper and even pink.

I do not like to label archetypes, so to speak. The labeling of another person through stereotypes tends to be downright insulting, and history tells us that these attitudes have started wars. While all of this is true, however, it is also true that most such archetypes suffer because they are explicitly negative. A stereotype of positive attitudes could prove useful in promoting a group of people.

Maryland is one of the states located near, or in, the Mid Atlantic region in the United States. It borders the states of the District of Columbia, West Virginia and Virginia to the west and the south, the state of Delaware to the east, and the state of Pennsylvania to the north. Originally, it was under the territory of the Chesapeake Colonies, a territory well known for growing tobacco plants using slave labor back in the early days.
